Job Description:

The Marketing Coordinator, Manheim Edmonton will contribute to existing marketing programs, while assisting with the development of new initiatives to deliver results against established objectives for Manheim and its customers. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with a wide range of marketing functions, including communications, advertising, branding, digital marketing, and social media. The marketing coordinator must be an organized multitasker able to handle many diverse projects at once and meet tight deadlines

 

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

Strategic Planning

  • Assist in the development and implementation of the company’s brand strategy
  • Lead the development of marketing campaigns and activation of the marketing plan; including key sales events, major promotions, new program/product launches and prioritized new business opportunities as they arise during the year
  • Conduct research to analyze market trends, customer behavior, and competitive landscape, and prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data
  • Support the Marketing Manager in evaluating and establishing the marketing plan.  Strategize by assembling, analyzing sales forecasts, setting objectives, planning, and organizing promotional presentations, and updating calendars
  • Facilitate regular communication between marketing and key stakeholders to ensure objectives continually align
  • Partnering with Cox Automotive Events in planning and execution of strategic customer and industry events based on objectives
  • Ensure alignment of location-specific plans with overall Cox Automotive Canada and Manheim Marketing strategy, best practices and brand guidelines
  • Recommend marketing spend needed to accomplish objectives and manage marketing budget

 

Marketing Execution

  • Oversee and contribute to development of creative, marketing, and communication materials designed to support marketing, and sales goals
  • Partner with external contributors or internal team members to develop and manage social media and media plans
  • Work with events management team to align and activate customer events, association partnerships, and industry activities
  • Work with General Manager, Regional Sales Director and Sales team to grow in-lane, digital, and public sale auctions, and nurture existing client base
  • Execute national marketing plans, promotions, and campaigns, by working closely with Marketing Managers
  • Manage workload, and expenses to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
  • Work with Legal team on creative (incl. promotions), SOW’s, and contracts to gain approval when necessary
  • Work with sales teams to identify customer target lists for campaigns
  • Clearly define customer outreach tactical plans, including how Manheim personnel will engage customers to achieve campaign objectives
  • Communicate post-campaign results and metrics vs. established goals
  • Consistently assess performance results of marketing plans, and provide recommendations on adjustments as needed
  • Provide executive marketing dashboard to market leadership based on key marketing plans, and campaign objectives

 

Collaboration

  • Serve as single point of contact for location marketing needs, including consulting/data requests, and creative services projects
  • Proactively communicate with key stakeholders, including Market leadership (GM’s), corporate Marketing leadership, and Sales leadership 
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders, understand needs, and business dynamics, and ensure proper execution of marketing plans
  • Communicate campaign objectives, timelines, and deliverables to sales team, and provide instructions for use or promotion
  • Participate in Market Leadership meetings, and planning sessions
  • Collaborate with peers to ensure adoption of best practices, and implementation of priority projects

 

 

Qualifications:

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, or communications or equivalent experience and marketing certifications
  • Past work experience as a marketing coordinator or similar role
  • Knowledge of traditional and digital marketing, content marketing, and social media marketing
  • B2B and B2C Marketing experience
  • Familiarity of the automotive industry and/or automotive remarketing

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Excellent writing, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Analytical mindset that seeks to understand buyer persona and intent
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize data points into tangible actions
  • Strong Project Management skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in full Microsoft Office suite
  • Working knowledge of digital advertising channels, including Kijiji, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Google Ads
  • Graphic design skills and knowledge of Adobe Creative an asset but not required
