Job Description

Toyo Tires Canada currently has the position of SENIOR ACCOUNTANT available at our Richmond Head Office. This is a newly created position for our operation and we’re excited to tell you about it !

OVERVIEW The Senior Accountant (“SA”) provides overarching day-to-day support to the organization in the areas of accounts receivable, fixed assets, financial reporting and general accounting principles. This position ensures alignment with the initiatives of the Board of Directors, IFRS, J-SOX and our corporate policies. The SA liaises, services and builds relationships with internal clients, customers and various suppliers. In collaboration with the Accounting Team and all departments, the SA is responsible for the success of Toyo Tires Canada Inc. (“TTI”)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Team Collaboration • Provides input into Accounting Department strategic planning, budgeting, policies, procedures and operations • Promotes and maintains a workplace culture that encourages ethical practices, individual integrity and economic and social responsibility • Provides strong, effective and highly visible team collaboration, is motivated and contributes fully to the realization of TTI’s vision, mission and objectives • Conducts internal training on policies, processes, procedures and operational support services Accounts Receivable (“AR”) • Applies payments to AR accounts issuing debit or credit memos as appropriate • Processes AR account adjustments, offsetting credits with debits • Assists with account reconciliations, investigating discrepancies • Analyzes financial statements Fixed Assets • Maintains fixed asset data and prepare month-end depreciation GL journal entries • Updates monthly depreciation for newly added assets for investment reports • Conducts annual fixed asset counts General Accounting • Prepares QST, Corporate Tax and GST filings • Completes various reconciliations including bank statements, cheque reconciliations, prepaid expenses, receivables and payables • Prepares month-end journal entries • Assists with monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting including cash flow • Assists with annual financial budget and periodic midterm plans • Assists with backup, vacation and leave coverage for various roles including Staff Accountant and Accounting Analyst The Senior Accountant performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS The SA: • Should possess an accounting designation, however candidates who are working towards their designation may be considered • Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience o Working in a similar role within a customer service, sales-oriented or product distribution environment o Working with multi-site operations o Providing individual and group training and support • Must have experience working with Microsoft Office Suite including advanced Excel skills • Must have experience working with information and data management systems • Must be willing to participate in ongoing education and training for the role • Must be fluent in English (spoken and written). Fluency in French or another language is considered an asset Due to the nature of this role, we will require successful. completion of background checks including employment reference, credit and criminal record
